How to Seal Your Foods Without a Vacuum Sealer?

Vacuum sealing is actually a great way to preserving foods, it helps to prevent your foods from becoming dehydrated and will avoid the risk of freezer burns. I usually use this method to store different kinds of food, from tomatoes, to meat and cheese, etc. Because I can buy food in bulk at a reduced cost and safely store it for future use.
But, can you believe this: I don’t need to buy a vacuum sealer to be able to seal the bag. Let's see how i do it!
Well, all you need is a STRAW!
Yep, a straw. I keep it in the same drawer with food grade bags and reuse it numerous times until it needs to be replaced.
So, how can you replace a vacuum sealer with a straw?
-Firstly, you put your foods in the ziplock bag.

-Then, zip close the bag but remember to keep a little slit to insert the straw.

-Hold the opening closed on both sides of the straw, and then use it to suck all the air out.
-Then quickly pull the straw out while closing the small opening.
-Finally, flatten the bag for easy storage, label and date, and put in the freezer.
That's all for today. Give it a try next time you're in the kitchen, and I think you'll be surprised at how easy it is to do!
